WELCOME TO THE GRIC DIGITAL INCLUSION STUDY

Overview

The Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) is conducting a study funded by the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program. Led by Gila River Telecommunications, Inc. (GRTI), through its Digital Connect Initiative (DCI), the GRIC Digital Inclusion Study (DIS) is an effort to help us better understand how Community members engage with the digital world. This research is crucial for ensuring everyone in our Community can access and benefit from digital tools and opportunities. Through the study, GRIC intends to learn about the opportunities, obstacles, and goals GRIC members have when it comes to engaging with the digital environment. The final product of the study will be a Digital Equity Plan, which will cast a vision for our future and provide steps to help achieve Community goals, based on input from GRIC members and departments.

Objectives of the Study

Through this study, we aim to:

●      Assess the current state of digital access including broadband availability, device access, relevant digital content, and necessary skills and support.

●      Identify the digital needs and challenges faced by our members.

●      Develop a Digital Equity Plan (DEP) that outlines actionable steps to achieve digital equity based on the insights gathered.

Timeline

The Household Survey will be available beginning November 11, 2024, and close January 15, 2025.
